This is probably one of the most frequent questions we get asked is, "Can we get the raw footage?". Simply put, yes you can, but for a fee. When hiring us to shoot your event, commercial, promo material, etc. etc. you are investing in the crew's time and the requested edited, final deliverables. Anything outside of that scope, such as the raw un-edited media and project files unfortunately cannot be included for free.
The cost for the client to purchase the right to use all the raw footage however they would like is 50% of the original proposal price. If a client’s project is $10,000 then the rights to the raw footage come out to an additional $5,000. This fee grants the client access to the raw media with signed permission to use it at their discretion for future videos and marketing.
Note: For those interested in attaining their raw footage I can provide a watermarked copy of all the raw media to preview before deciding to pay the raw footage fee.

This is the first reaction for any production company when you ask for the raw footage. The client is going to take our work and get someone else to make several videos with our media.
In most cases, the client's motives are genuine with an innocent reason behind wanting the raw footage, but that doesn’t stop production companies from being concerned about potentially missing out on future work with the client since raw footage has the ability to provide the client with new content to post for several months.

Not only do we sign the copyrighted media over to you but we also have to purchase additional storage space whether it be via the subscriptions we pay for cloud storage or more physical hard drives on our computers to store the raw footage. Not only does the hard-drive cost alone go into the hundreds of dollars but there is also the time it takes to export the data, this can run into 12+ hours of computer time. Not to forget having to manually watermark the raw media for you to conveniently be able to preview everything before deciding you would like the raw footage.
Therefore we must charge 50% of the original proposal price.
